Yu is definitely a nice venue -- but the last time I went out here I spent about $300 on booze. From memory, the beers are about $8.50 (somebody needs to tell the management we aren't living in Norway). Yu has great floorspace and a crisp sound system. Over the years, it's been host to a lot of great one-off club nights; Beware the Cat on Saturday's is meant to be fun.

Home nightclub has the best sound system in Sydney, and there's something for everyone in the music stakes. Pure trance and hard dance, slamming breaks and phat live beats, all things house and electro. Sublime has taken the Australian Dance Music "Best Club Night NSW" award since its inception. Kink has been running for almost four years as one of the biggest club brands in Australia -- they definitely know how to pull a crowd. The music ranges from tech house to vocal house (somebody kill me). However, the girls are pretty and it's a great place to get high and feel up strangers.

Ladylux is bang in the middle of the Cross, where the big kids come out to play. Lushly furnished and the perfect place for a few too many drinks. The weekly club night, Bread & Butter (Friday), usually has an international headline act and is always good fun. Smut (Sunday) packs out early, and on most weekends you'll find people bouncing away till closing time.
